Collectors and speculators know all too well what it’s like to keep track of particularly expensive products, whose prices are truly dizzying. Video games, movies, literature, and of course collectibles such as coins, stamps, and yes, Pokemon TCG cards. Do you know which one is the most expensive? Not? Then you’d better sit down before you know what it’s worth, because it’s almost 4 million euros!

That’s right, close to €4,000,000 (3,880,481). This is the most expensive and rarest Pokemon card: Pikachu Illustrator, of which only 39 were produced, of which only 20 were distributed, thanks to Japanese magazine CoroCoro. Those in the PSA 9 and 10 range (i.e. those in good condition and almost new) can reach such prices. In fact, there’s one available on eBay right now, though what’s really surprising is that at the time of writing, more than a dozen people are following it.

It’s a fortune, but there are always people in the world willing to pay such sums. Needless to say, less than two years ago, the exact same exact sold for nearly 1.9 million euros, so it’s not surprising to see what it will cost in 2025 and think it will be even more expensive and sought after in the future.
